This version of the Android Support plugin for IntelliJ IDEA (or Android Studio) cannot open this project, please retry with version 4.1 or newer.

 

위 에러의 경우 대충 해석해보면 알수있듯이, 안드로이드 스튜디오의 버전을 업그레이드해주어야 한다는 뜻이다. 

window를 사용하시는 경우 안드로이드 상단 메뉴바에 Help → Check for Updates 를 클릭.

mac을 사용하시는 경우 안드로이드 상단 메뉴바에 Android Studio → Check for Updates 를 클릭.

 

이후 Update for Restart 버튼을 클릭하여 최신 버전으로 업그레이드를 진행해주면 된다. 

이후 Previous version 에 체크후 OK.

 

이후 기존 안드로이드스튜디오의 버전 내용을 삭제하고 새 패치버전을 적용시켜주면 완료 !
